How it works

A washable bed is only washable if the dog has somewhere to sleep while the cover dries, and the bouclé takes most of a day.

Both slip-on covers do the same job over the same bed, and the honest difference is the pile. Either way, buy the size of the bed.

Fleece is not waterproof. An accident goes through it to the bed's own cover and then to the SNÜZ's waterproof inner covers, which is exactly what those are for.
Size guide
SNÜZ Small, bouclé or suedeBed outer size 73 x 58 x 15 cm · Cover weight 410 g
SNÜZ Medium, bouclé or suedeBed outer size 94 x 74 x 15 cm · Cover weight 520 g
SNÜZ Large, bouclé or suedeBed outer size 115 x 90 x 15 cm · Cover weight 660 g
Buy the size of the SNÜZ bed it goes on. Small covers the Small (73 x 58 x 15 cm), Medium the Medium (94 x 74 x 15 cm), Large the Large (115 x 90 x 15 cm). The bouclé and the suede SNÜZ share those sizes. Laid flat the covers measure 75 x 60, 96 x 76 and 117 x 92 cm.
It goes on over the whole bed with the bed's own cover still on. Pull it over the back bolster first, then the two sides, then the front, and tuck the edge under the base. Off is the reverse, in less time.
The corduroy SNÜZ, the NÄP and the SNÖR are different shapes. Nothing published confirms the cover on them, so do not buy it for those beds until it does; email hello@woopf.com and ask.

How to

Leave the bouclé or suede cover on. Pull the fleece over the back bolster first, then the sides, then the front, and tuck the edge under the base. A minute, and less each time.

Wash day: fleece off and into the machine, or bouclé off and fleece on. One cover washing, one on the bed, no evening on the couch.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, no softener, and hang it in the shade; fleece dries in an afternoon. No tumble dryer: heat flattens a pile and sets a stain.

A damp rubber glove across the pile lifts a week of hair in a minute. A short curly pile holds less than fur, but it is not nothing on a golden retriever.

If a cover is coming off every second day, one spare is not a rotation. Two fleeces and the bed's own cover means there is always a dry one, and none of them wears out.
Vet noteDr Duncan Houston, BVSc
A bed cover is comfort, not treatment, and the cover is the part of the bed that touches the dog, so keep it clean. Wash it fortnightly in normal use, weekly for a dog with itchy skin or allergies, and after every accident, because urine left in a pile fabric causes urine scald and skin infection within a day or two. A puppy that is still wetting the bed at five or six months, or a house-trained dog of any age that starts, needs a vet before it needs a spare cover: a urinary infection, worms, a diet change, or in an older dog kidney disease, diabetes or Cushing's all present as a wet bed first. A dog that suddenly avoids a bed it used to like, or scratches after lying on it, may be too hot on a fleece surface: take the cover off and see whether the itch follows it, then see your vet if it does not, because fabric is rarely the cause of a skin problem and usually only where you notice it. Puppies and chewers: a loose edge is a thing to pull at, so check it is tucked under and take it away from a dog that is eating it.

Why I designed it
A lot of the dogs I send home from an emergency shift are going to make a mess of a bed that week: the puppy with diarrhoea, the dog with a drain, the old dog on a new tablet that makes him drink. Their owners do not need a lecture on hygiene, they need a second cover, and they need it to be dry by tonight. That is this one.

FAQ
The SNÜZ bed, in bouclé (the SNÜZ Vet Orthopedic Bed) or suede (the SNÜZ Orthopedic Suede Bed): they share one shape and three sizes, and the cover comes in the same three. Buy the size of the bed you own. The SNÜZ Orthopedic Corduroy Bed is a different shape, a four-sided frame, and the NÄP and the SNÖR are different again; nothing published confirms the cover on them, so do not buy it for those until it does.
They do the same job over the same bed. The SNÜZ Bed Slip-On Cover in faux fur has the longer, plusher pile: warmer, slower to dry, holds more hair, three colours, one price. This fleece is a short curly pile: still soft, lighter, quicker to dry, easier to brush, four colours including the check. If you wash a cover every week, or you have a puppy, a foster litter or more than one dog, buy the fleece. If the dog sleeps cold and the cover comes off once a fortnight, buy the fur. Plenty of households end up with one of each and rotate by season.
Over it. The fleece goes over the whole bed, cushion and bolsters, with the bed's own cover still on; the photographs show exactly that, the fleece lifted off a bed that still has its cover. That is what makes it a spare rather than a replacement: on wash day one cover is in the machine and the other is on the bed, and nothing gets unzipped.
The listing says both. The Features tab and the search listing say a heavy-duty zip; the name says slip-on and the photographs show it lifted off in one piece like a sheet. We are confirming which with the maker, and this answer changes the day we do. Either way it goes on over the whole bed in about a minute.
No, and neither is any fleece. An accident goes through it to the bed's own cover and then to the SNÜZ's waterproof inner covers, which are what protect the foam: you wash the fleece and the bouclé and the foam stays dry. For a puppy having accidents most days, or a senior that leaks, put the SNÜZ Bed Cover (Dig-Proof & Waterproof) on the bed as the protection and use this over it as the soft layer that washes. Keep two fleeces if the cover is coming off every second day.
Fortnightly in normal use, weekly for a dog with itchy skin, and after every accident. Cold water, gentle cycle, no fabric softener (it flattens a pile and cuts how well it wicks), and hang it in the shade; fleece dries in an afternoon. No tumble dryer and no iron: heat flattens the pile and sets stains. A damp rubber glove across it between washes lifts the hair.
No. Brown is a brown and cream check, the one patterned cover in the range, in the same fleece as the plain colours. The Features tab calls the colours "Cream, Grey, Black, Black & Brown", which is a typing error; there is no black in it. If a plain brown is what you want, tell hello@woopf.com: at least one faux fur customer has asked for a chocolate brown too.
Damaged or faulty on arrival: email hello@woopf.com as soon as you notice with a photo and your order number and it is covered. Wrong size: returns are considered within 14 days on unused items in their original packaging, so match it to the bed size you own before you order.
