- 0:05 Good day. I'm Dr. Duncan Houston, and this is my fake living room.
- 0:12 All right, what have we got here? We've actually got the WOOPF™ Orthopedic NÄP range. That's right, NÄP. It's an A with two dots above it.
- 0:20 Just because I wanted to make it sound cool, but I just thought, you know, you tuck in for a quick nap. That's why they're called the NÄP range.
- 0:26 It's pretty much—it just looks like a donut, honestly, this one. You know, nice round shape. These come in the one fabric, but they come in three colors. So, we've got black, we've got gray, and we've got like a creamy beige. I just call it cream.
- 0:38 Why are these beds good? Look, you've got the—you know, the outer kind of tough linen material. And then inside, it's called—I call it velvet fur. It's kind of like a rabbit fur. It's like a really soft fur feeling.
- 0:48 I really like it. Maybe rabbit fur. Like, I could have gone with longer fur, like a shag material or something, but this just feels really nice and good. So, I'm sure your pet would love to feel it, you know, feel really nice and good as well.
- 0:59 This whole range is infused with lavender memory foam. That's right, lavender memory foam. Why is lavender memory foam good? Well, it has like a really nice memory foam with the lavender memory foam infusion in the center.
- 1:12 But this one has a higher and thicker wall.
- 1:15 So, there are the different options. There's the SNÖR range, which has no front, so it's easy to get in and out of. You know, it's much easier for older dogs or, you know, smaller dogs.
- 1:25 Then there's the like the kind of the standard range, which is the SNÜZ range, which is kind of your standard rectangle that has lower walls all around it.
- 1:32 Then this is the NÄP range. The NÄP range has relatively high walls, so it's harder for dogs to get in and out of, but it's for those dogs that kind of like to tuck in and hide and stuff when they sleep.
- 1:42 It is kind of a softer wall as well. It's chunks of memory foam, so bigger dogs can kind of lean on it and kind of will sag. The other—the other beds have firmer walls. They're a firmer bed. Uh, this one is a softer bed.
- 1:54 So, let's go through it. You can easily see this one. Uh, on the bottom, you have these kind of rubber grippy dots. They are really good on flat surfaces, so like wooden floors and tiles.
- 2:04 They don't work on carpet. Um, but if you keep them on that surface for a longer period, these dots will tend to stick to the, you know, that surface, because of your dog's weight and because of the weight of the bed, you know, and probably a bit of heat and stuff.
- 2:19 And it does tend to stick quite well. So, keep it in the same spot, leave it there. You know, you can change it, but the longer it stays there, the stickier these get. So, when your dog jumps in it and stuff, it doesn't move around too much.
- 2:30 Anyway, look, it's got good zippers. Let's—let's show you why this is also a good bed. Let's unzip the bed and make it all naked.
- 2:38 Comes off in one piece. You probably never need to wash this, but you can technically wash that part. You know, less below 30° and low slow spin cycle.
- 2:47 So, here you go. This is the nice center bit. It's got the purple on top, which is the lavender-infused memory foam.
- 2:53 This is nice firm memory foam. You know, it is—it is soft enough for sleep, but it is nice and firm. Will hold its shape. Uh, you've got the bottom bit there. Uh, and then, you know, that's the whole bottom bit that's been taken out.
- 3:05 Now let's take out the wall or the bolster. So you can see it's a really big, thick— This is actually my favorite bed out of all the—all the products because I reckon it's the most comfortable.
- 3:15 So this bolster comes out in two pieces. They're like a giant salami. Uh, it's all just chunks of pieces of memory foam, all chocked up into one.
- 3:23 So, you know, not all the foam gets thrown out. It gets used for, you know, making the walls as well for offcuts.
- 3:29 And then this can go in less than 30°, slow spin cycle. Really easy to wash or wipe down, you know. And then you put it out in the sun.
- 3:39 So yeah, this is the NÄP WOOPF™ Orthopedic range with lavender-infused memory foam. It comes in gray, cream, and black. It's got a really nice velvet fur in the center and just a tough linen exterior. I love these beds. Anyway.

How it works
Why the NÄP is the bed for dogs and cats that sleep in a ball

A nest, not a mattress: a wall all the way round
The shape does the work.
- Enclosed whichever way it turnsAn oval well with a padded wall on every side gives a curled-up dog something at its back whichever way it turns, an edge to hang a chin over, and a sense of being enclosed that a flat bed never gives.
- Under-table sleepers and catsThat is what the dogs who sleep under tables are looking for, and it is the shape every cat picks first.
- Soft enough, firm enoughThe wall is soft enough to lean into and firm enough to hold a head.
- Linen-look outside, grippy baseThe outside of the wall is a linen-look fabric that takes the scuffs from the floor and the vacuum. The base is a grippy fabric so the nest stays where you put it.

Fur where they push in, memory foam where their hips are
The well is lined with a faux rabbit fur: dense, short and soft, the surface a nesting dog kneads and pushes its nose into before it settles, and the one a cat will not leave.
- Memory foam, not a thin padUnder the fur, the base is lavender-scented memory foam, so a dog that sleeps in this bed every night is sleeping on foam, not on a thin pad over floorboards.
- A calm cue, not a treatmentThe scent is set into the foam, not applied as an oil, and it is a calm cue for a dog settling into a new bed, not a treatment.
- Fur that holds warmthThe fur holds warmth, which is the point in winter and the reason a hot-running dog may lie beside it in January.
- Holds hair, needs a weekly brushThe fur holds hair too, and a weekly brush is part of owning one.

Who it is for, and who should buy the SNÖR or the SNÜZ
This is the bed for the curlers, the burrowers, the anxious sleepers, the cats, and the small and medium dogs that like walls. Three honest limits.
- Not the two-layer SNÜZ baseIt is a memory foam base, but not the two-layer 7 cm base of the SNÜZ, so a big dog with worn hips that sleeps stretched out is better on the SNÜZ.
- Nothing on it is waterproofNothing on this listing is waterproof, so a dog that leaks in its sleep belongs on the SNÜZ, whose inner covers wipe clean.
- No low frontA nest has a wall on every side and no low front. A dog that must not step over anything, straight after surgery or with very weak hind legs, belongs on the SNÖR, which has a low lip.
- Measure your pet curled upThe well is smaller than the outer size, so measure your pet curled up and between sizes go up.

Three sizing rules
-
Measure your pet curled up the way they actually sleep, from the nose round to the tail. The well inside the wall is a good deal smaller than the outer size, so choose the size whose outer length is at least 25 cm more than that number, and do not size to the millimetre.
-
Weight bands, curled up: Small for cats and dogs to 8 kg, Medium for 8 to 20 kg, Large for 20 to 40 kg. Between sizes, go up.
-
A dog that sleeps stretched out flat, or a big dog with advanced arthritis, is better on the SNÜZ; a dog that must not step over a wall after surgery is better on the SNÖR.

How to
How to move a nervous dog onto a new bed

Put it where they already hide
A nest goes where the dog already goes to feel safe: the corner, beside your bed, under the desk. Same spot, then move it a metre at a time to where you want it once they have claimed it.

Let the foam and the fur recover
If it arrives compressed, unpack it, fluff the wall and the fur by hand and give the foam 24 to 48 hours before you judge it. The fur settles after the first few nights.

Lure, do not lift
A treat dropped in the well, a chew given in the bed, praise when they step in. A nervous dog lifted into a strange bed learns to avoid it.

Do not crowd it
The point of a nest is that it is theirs. Keep children and the other dog out of it for the first week, and put it somewhere they can retreat to without being followed.

Brush it weekly, wash the cover every fortnight
Shake the fur out and brush it with a slicker or a rubber glove once a week. Every fortnight, remove the cover and machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle, then air dry; heat mats fur. Never put the foam in the machine.
Vet noteDr Duncan Houston, BVSc
A bed is comfort, not treatment. A dog that hides, trembles, paces or cannot settle has anxiety that a nest can house but not fix; that is a conversation with your vet about training, environment and, sometimes, medication, and the sooner the better. Stiffness after rest, reluctance to jump or use stairs, licking at one joint, or a limp that lasts more than a day or two needs a veterinary examination, not a better bed. Orthopedic bedding is one part of arthritis care, alongside weight control, sensible exercise, joint support and the pain relief your vet prescribes.

Why I designed it
For the dog that sleeps in a ball with its back against something, and the cat that has decided the dog bed is hers.
That is den behaviour, and an anxious dog does more of it, not less. The NÄP is the nest in the range for those dogs, and for the cats, who never needed telling.
- Where a nervous dog chooses to sleepWatch where a nervous dog chooses to sleep when nobody has given it a bed: under the table, behind the couch, in the gap beside the bed. Something at its back, something over its head if it can get it.
- A padded wall all the way roundAn oval with a padded wall all the way round, high enough to lean into and rest a chin over.
- A faux rabbit fur liningA faux rabbit fur lining, because the fur is what they push their nose into when they settle.
- A lavender-scented memory foam baseUnderneath the fur, a lavender-scented memory foam base, because a nest that leaves an old dog's hips on the floor is a basket, not a bed.
- The honest linesFur holds heat and hair, so it is the winter bed and it needs a brush; nothing on it is waterproof; and the wall is a step, so a dog that must not step over anything belongs on the SNÖR.
- A bed can give a nervous dog a placeIt cannot treat anxiety, and I would rather you knew that from me. Bridie and Kiko tested every version.

Truly one of the best beds we’ve had. My dogs don’t like most beds and will lie on the floor rather than a bed. But they genuinely have loved this one from the moment I got it out of the box. It’s great
May 2026 My dog jumped on this bed right away and looked so happy. It’s soft, cozy, and the raised edges make it feel secure. Perfect little spot for naps!

Is a donut bed good for an anxious dog?
It gives an anxious dog the shape it would choose for itself: something at its back on every side, an edge to rest its chin over, and a soft surface to push into. Dogs that sleep under tables and behind couches are asking for exactly that, and most cats never needed asking. What a bed cannot do is treat anxiety. A dog that trembles, paces, hides or cannot settle needs a conversation with your vet about training, environment and sometimes medication, and the nest is where it rests while you work on the rest. The lavender in the foam is a mild scent, not a sedative.
Which size does my pet need?
Measure them curled up, nose round to tail, and pick the size whose outer length is at least 25 cm more than that, because the wall takes room from every side. Small suits cats and dogs to about 8 kg, Medium 8 to 20 kg, Large 20 to 40 kg curled; a golden retriever in a ball is a Large. Between sizes, go up. A dog that sleeps stretched out flat is not a nest sleeper at all and is better on the SNÜZ Vet Orthopedic Bed.
How is the NÄP different from the SNÜZ and the SNÖR?
Three shapes for three sleepers. The NÄP is an oval nest: a padded wall all the way round, a faux fur well, a memory foam base under it, for curlers and burrowers. The SNÜZ is a rectangle: memory foam bolsters all round, for big and heavy dogs, and arthritic dogs that need the deepest support. The SNÖR is the low, light sofa with a lip at the front, for small dogs, seniors and post-op patients that must not step over anything. Same lavender foam idea, different door.
Is the fur too warm, and does it hold hair?
It is warm, which is the point: the fur is what makes this the winter bed and the cat bed. A hot-running dog may lie beside it in summer rather than in it, and that is normal. It holds hair the way any pile does, so shake it out and brush it weekly with a slicker or a rubber glove, and wash the cover every fortnight. If you want the same walls with less warmth, the corduroy SNÜZ is the cooler surface; the SNÜZ Orthopedic Suede Bed is the coolest in the range.
Is it waterproof?
Nothing on the listing says the base has a waterproof inner cover, so treat it as not waterproof: the cover comes off and machine washes, and that is the protection. A dog that leaks in its sleep, a puppy in training or a dog home with a surgical drain belongs on the SNÜZ, whose cushion and bolsters have waterproof inner covers that wipe clean.
Is the lavender safe for cats?
The scent is set into the foam, not applied as an oil that a pet can lick or roll in, and for most animals it is a mild calm cue at best. Cats are more sensitive to essential oils than dogs, and the Small is very much a cat bed, so air it for a day before first use, put it where the cat can leave it, and skip it if they avoid the bed or seem irritated. It is not a sedative and it does not treat anxiety in cats or dogs.
How do I wash it?
Remove the cover and machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle, then air dry; heat mats faux fur, so no tumble dryer and no radiator. When it is dry, a brush with a slicker or a rubber glove lifts the pile back up. Between washes, shake the fur out and brush it weekly. Never put the foam in the machine. Every fortnight in normal use, sooner after an accident.
What if the size is wrong, or it arrives damaged?
Damaged on arrival or faulty: email hello@woopf.com with a photo and your order number as soon as you notice, and it is covered. Wrong size and it is unused in its packaging: email within 14 days and we will look at a swap. A bed a dog has slept on cannot come back for hygiene reasons, so measure your dog lying down before you order, and keep the box until you are sure.
